Friendship
Friends are people who add colors to my life. They are the ones who never fail to put a smile on my face, and always cheer me on in whatever I do. There are many types of friends: true friends who never fail to support one another, best friends, acquaintances and those who leave you whenever trouble crops up. I have met many worthy friends, and I treasure all of them.
As Francis Bacon said:” He who has true friends will multiply his joy and diminish his grief." This is indeed true. We are able to enjoy life much more with our loyal friends than when we are alone. When troubles befall us, they will lend a helping hand and give us encouragement, therefore reducing out heaviness of heart. When conflicts occur between my sister and me, I will confide in my faithful friends and they will comfort me. Even though I have many acquaintances, there is a saying "he who has no true friends is like a man living in a wilderness." An acquaintance is someone whom we have limited knowledge of, but is not a close friend. Whenever we pass by them, we would just greet each other and chat briefly. If we only have acquaintances and have no true friends, a man may die without being able to achieve the fulfillment of some of his desires. If he keeps his secrets to himself, he will be living under a several mental strain.
Friends who leave us high and dry when we have any difficulty are people whom we should not rely on. Despite the fact that we spend a whale of a time together when we are trouble-free, they are not worthy of our concern.
In conclusion, there are many types of friends whom we will meet in our lives. We must pick them wisely so that they will make a great impact in our lives. The principal purpose of friendship is that it enables a man to have an outlet for his feelings and emotions; hence, having trustworthy friends is necessary in life.
